Calendar Contest Submission – Choice 4 – Halloween Night

Halloween Night

It was a dark and gloomy night. The sky gave off a glaucous-like look and the night was barely illuminated by small slivers of moon light. Children wandered outside, wearing a variety of costumes. They had smiles on their faces as they held up large bags of candy. No one had any idea of the dangers that a group of young men would encounter this Halloween night.

“Where’s Taehyung?” Jungkook shouted. Jungkook was an alluring boy with high cheekbones and a cute bunny-like smile. He had chestnut-colored eyes which he squinted ever so often. His flat round nose and soft peachy lips added to his excellent looks. Jungkook’s most outstanding feature was his purple hair which has parted neatly to the side, exposing his slender neck. He was wearing a flashy police costume. Taehyung was one of Jungkook’s best friends. He was a handsome brunette with a quirky attitude and an addictive personality. His brown hair was in short bangs which almost covered his whiskey-colored orbs. “I’m here,” Taehyung shouted as he entered the house. He was wearing a Detective Conan costume which showed off his tanned legs. Namjoon and Jin rushed over to help Hoseok, who was struggling to hold a thick dusty book. Namjoon, Hoseok and Jin were Jungkook’s other best friends. Jin was an attractive boy with thick dark brown hair and broad shoulders. His plump lips were slightly tinted and his eyebrows were arched neatly atop his long forehead. He was dressed as a doctor and with a white jacket, dress shirt, black pants and a long tie. Namjoon was an appealing young lad with messy dirty blonde hair that was shaved at his sides. He was cladded in all over black with gold rims on his shirt which depicted him as a lift man. Hoseok was a pleasing boy with deep brown hair in bangs. He has a bubbly personality and a peculiar-shaped nose. His smile was outstanding and could light up a whole room. He was dressed as a race car driver with a black and red jump suit. “Let’s read the book,” Jimin piped in. Jimin was an attention grabbing orange haired boy with glasses and a small face. The boys smiled and cuddled next to one another on the couch The seven of them were inseparable and about to commence their annual Halloween Celebration. Yoongi held up the thick book and handed it to Namjoon. Wiping the cover, he read the title, “The house near the graveyard.” The seven boys listened as Namjoon began to read. “This is the true, ghastly tale of ghosts, shape-shifters and forces.” “What is a force?” Hoseok shouted. The other boys ushered her to be quiet as Namjoon continued the story. “Damon was once a happy and peaceful man but recently he became lugubrious. This happened as a result of his boss relegating his position and the death of his wife. Damon was working on a project to be able to provide food to non-living forms. His boss, Mark, was quite certain that he was going mental. There was no need to give food to a non-living object unless Damon meant the supernatural. Mark began to worry for Damon’s sake. He had given him another chance as long as he didn’t continue the project. Everything went back to normal until a few days later. Mark had heard a maniacal laugh coming from the storage room and he decided to investigate. There Damon was continuing his project. He propagated several species and mixed them with several chemicals and the blood from the proboscis of an elephant. Using test tubes, he shook the liquids together while wearing a devious look. With a heavy heart, Mark had to fire Damon. Damon was labeled as a renegade for disobeying Mark and using illegal chemicals. Soon word spread that Damon’s wife Tiffany had died. It was found that Dr. Fisher killed Tiffany. Damon accused him and there was great evidence pointing the doctor to the crime. But even with all the evidence pointing to him and Damon’s accusation, Dr. Fisher had recriminate Damon. In the end Dr. Fisher was sent to prison while Damon received sympathy cards. Mark felt the need to pay him a visit. Upon entering Damon’s house, he saw Damon crying uncontrollably. Mark felt the need to comfort him. Looking at Damon’s hand, Mark saw a deep wound. Damon explained that ever since his wife died, he felt the need to cut himself. He feels pleasure rolling through his veins when he cuts himself. The physical pain helped him forget about the emotionally turmoil he was facing. Mark felt shocked that Damon became a masochist. Mark felt nothing but sympathy towards Damon and he offered him back his job. Damon was overjoyed and offered Mark a piquant drink, which was gladly accepted. No one knows what happened after that. Did Damon take up Mark’s offer or did Mark change his mind? All we know is that both the bodies of Mark and Damon were found lying in a pool of blood. Shape shifters and the horrid combinations of fishes and horses were found surrounding the body. The monsters all fled when the police came. What happened still remains a mystery. There was no innocent one in this game; all the answers remain in the house.” Namjoon began turning to pages, only to see each filled with the words, “BEWARE THE HOUSE NEAR THE GRAVEYARD.” “Poor Damon, he didn’t deserve to die,” Jimin sobbed. “I think there’s something fishy going on with Damon. Why would Dr. Fisher accuse him of killing his wife, without a reason?” Namjoon said and Jin agreed, “Plus- what was he trying to give food to?” Hoseok joined the conversation as he said, “I agree with Jimin, you guys are pessimistic.” Taehyung and Jungkook were about to enter the conversation but then Yoongi burst into abrupt laughter. His bright gummy smile was shown as he screeched, “You guys don’t really believe this story to be real?” Yoongi continued, “But it would be cool to visit the house.” The seven boys then made the decision to visit the haunted house. As the boys left the house in their costumes, their neighbor, Ms. Higgs, called them over. The boys were quite fond of the woman but they despised her son Kyle. There was a time when all eight boys were friends but that changed when Kyle suddenly became different. His behavior change started at his eighteenth birthday; he was never the same again. One day, he had attempted to stab Taehyung’s cat Kkanji. Another day, he was caught adding poison to the food bowl for Namjoon’s dog Rapmon. After these incidents the boys confronted Kyle who just smirked and ran away. Ever since then, they drifted apart. The boys were broken out of their flashback when Ms. Higgs spoke again, “Boys I hate to bother you at this time but I’m terribly late for an errand. Would you mind keeping Kyle’s company while I go? Please, it would mean the world to me.” The boys reluctantly complied as they looked at Ms. Higgs’ pleading face. The old woman gave each boy a peck on their cheek and hustled along her way. Kyle and the seven friends were silent until Kyle suddenly hugged them. “I’m terribly sorry for my behavior towards you guys. I don’t know what came over me. Can we be friends again?” After a few minutes of consideration, the boys reluctantly agreed except for Yoongi, who claimed they could be acquaintances. “So are we going to the house near the graveyard or not?” Kyle asked. The other boys tensed and moved away. “How do you know about our planned visit?” they said. Kyle stuttered, “Um…didn’t you guys just tell me.” The seven best friends looked suspiciously at Kyle as he made up an excuse about overhearing their talk. “I don’t think trusting him is such a good idea,” Jungkook whispered. “I know but Ms. Higgs wants us to look after him so he’ll have to along,” Taehyung responded. The boys groaned as they and Kyle entered Jin’s Hot Pink Mustang. The ride to house was quite bumpy. The scenery only added to the nervousness that dwelled in seven boys’ hearts. Kyle seemed unfazed at the ghastly view above. It wasn’t winter but all the trees were mottled and withered. The moonlight was a bit brighter now and its glow, gave the town a ghoulish vibe. Brown and yellow leaves that fell to the ground swirled with the autumn breeze. The sky was dark and not a star could be seen. Jin swerved his car and parked it near the house. The pungent stench of dead bodies was high, especially since there were corpses nearby that were only covered with thin lids. Jimin, Jin, Hoseok and Taehyung felt like gagging while Jungkook, Namjoon and Yoongi’s eyes burned. Kyle seemed accustomed to this which only raised suspicions. The four story house should have been called a mansion. A cobblestone path led to the door of the house. Two large towers loomed on either side. Stone gargoyles were perched on the towers. Their bodies were cracked and a green light was emitted from their eyes. The house was mainly brick. The owner clearly liked black as the whole house was made in this color. A large cloth depicting a black crow was hung over the front of the house. Thick vines of ivy wrapped around the house as if daring to choke anyone who entered. Taehyung rapped on the thick wooden door until his knuckles turned red. A stone gargoyle’s mouth began to twitch. Pieces of gray stone fell as the gargoyle’s mouth opened. Yoongi, Namjoon, Jungkook, Taehyung, Jimin, Jin and Hoseok clung to each other while Kyle shrugged it off.  “It’s probably just robotic. Stop acting so childish.,” Kyle murmured. The boys, especially Yoongi, felt their cheeks burn with embarrassment. It obviously had to be robotic but then… this was Halloween. A booming voice escaped from the gargoyle’s mouth. “You must answer my riddle enter the house. But beware for inside lurks creatures that could squash you as if you were a mouse.” This time all of the boys trembled. The gargoyle continued, “I’m at the beginning of time and part of past, present and future. I’m part of history, but not of here and now. In a moment you’ll find me, if you know what I am. What am I?” Jin ran to gargoyle with a wild grin. “Guys, I got this. I’m great with riddles.” The boys groaned as Jin kept failing miserably. “What good are his jokes if he can’t solve this riddle?” Kyle was impatient and was about to answer when the gargoyle spoke again. “You’ve had too much experience with this place. Let the other boys answer,” it said with its deafening voice. The other seven boys were getting worried. What did the gargoyle mean when he said that Kayla had too much experience with this place? Did he visit here before? Kyle mouthed the letter t to Jin. At first Jin didn’t realize what he meant but then it hit him…it was the answer to the riddle. Jin shouted out the answer and the gargoyle faced Kyle with a cold gaze before allowing the doors to swing open. The boys entered the dimly lit hallway. The walls were painted in a midnight blue with speckles of green moss. Tall posts supported large lamps with was used to illuminate the creepy house. The girls were walking along the thick blood-red carpet when Jimin pulled Jungkook, Jin, Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok and Taehyung away from Kayla. “How did you know the answer to the riddle?” he questioned Jin. Jin then explained how Kyle told him the answer. “It seemed as though the gargoyle knew him,” he exclaimed. “We should keep our distance,” Hoseok responded. The boys nodded and went back to walking with Kyle. There was uncomfortable silence as they walked. “So what are we really looking for?” Kyle said breaking the silence. “Information on a man named Damon,” Yoongi responded. Kayla smiled as she heard the name but his expression changed when she saw the seven boys looking at him distrustfully. His mission was to make them trust him, not hate him more. “We should take a left,” Kyle said with a fake smile. This didn’t go unnoticed by the boys who questioned why left. “Most horror stories always have the secrets located in the left part of the house,” Kyle said, trying to stick with the plan given to him. They reluctantly followed Kyle. They figured it would be better to stick with someone who knew the house so that they wouldn’t get loss. Light from the candles shone on seven boys’ hands which bore identical rings. Kyle looked at them enviously. “How come I never got a ring?” The other boys explained that they got it from their parents. “So your parents were all friends. Was it passed down from your grandparents as well?” Kyle questioned. They nodded again. Kyle’s mind flooded with questions. Were these the magical rings? How was he going to steal them? Kyle reached out his hand and tried to grab Hoseok’s ring. The golden band with the elegant red heart and white diamonds let out a large spark causing Kayla to be pushed backwards. Hoseok was terrified and began running left. The other boys were too blinded by the light that shot from Fiona’s finger. When they regained their senses, they eyed Kyle suspiciously. “What was that? Why would you try to steal Hoseok’s ring? He could be lost now,” Jin said furiously. Kyle looked around nervously and thought about what to say. “I was just trying to see the ring. I really didn’t mean for him to run away. Hoseok’s hand was a bit sweaty, the spark must have been caused when my electrical bracelet came in contact with the sweat,” Kyle said letting fake tears flow..

Meanwhile

Hoseok ran as fast as his legs could take him. He couldn’t explain it, but he felt as though she meant to do that to Kyle. He knew Kyle was trying to steal his ring and he couldn’t be told otherwise. He meant to her hurt Kyle and he had powers. His powers had something to do with her ring. Hoseok stopped running and looked at his ring closely. It seemed to be glowing. He felt positive energy from it just as she had felt negative energy from Kyle. What he didn’t notice was the poisonous orange fog that enveloped his body. He felt as though her energy was being drained from her but something was preventing it from killing him. Sure enough, his ring was expelling a light pink glow. This, however, didn’t prevent him from becoming unconscious.

Back

The rings were more powerful than Kyle thought they would be. Soon his master would get Hoseok and the ring. Kyle smirked at the thought but quickly changed his expression to a somber one. He walked with the others while pretending to care about Hoseok.

 Meanwhile

Hoseok was kicked awake and felt a pain in his legs. As his eyes adjusted, he realized he was in a dark room. Knives, daggers and various kinds of weapons hung from the walls. Spell books and scrolls were lined on bookshelves. Everything was covered with thick layers of dust. He tried moving his arms but they were shackled to the chair she was sitting on. His tan face looked as pale as Snow White when he saw the physiognomy of the man in front of him. His face was scarred everywhere. Deep gashes on his forehead were red and bursting with inflammation. Several wrinkles lined his face and his eyes were blood-shot red. His hair was speckled with grey and chopped unevenly, adding to his grotesque look. His teeth were like those of a shark, all shaped like pointed fangs. He kicked Hoseok again causing him to whimper in pain. “Look at my face,” he growled. Hoseok sobbed not moving his head. “You do what I tell you to do,” he screamed and yanked his hair. “This is what the ancestors of you and your friends did to me. They caused me pain with those rings,” he showed Hoseok his neck with even deeper wounds. The man continued, “My followers were able to save me. And I vowed that I would get my revenge on all of you and steal your powers. My shape-shifters and forces stood by my side when no one else did.” Hoseok looked at the man now and felt sympathy. “You’re Damon. The death of your wife was too much to bear that-” Damon let out a loud laugh but there was no humor inside of it. “Stupid child, I killed my wife. She wanted me to stop my plan to achieve world domination.” Damon sunk his long black nails inside of Hoseok’s cheeks. Hoseok knew the only way to prevent himself from dying right now was to keep the conversation going. “Do you know how many enormities you are committing? Didn’t you feel sad?  Why did you put the blame on Dr. Fisher?” he squeaked. “I didn’t feel remorse at all. My so called wife was having an affair with the doctor so it seemed only fair to put the blame on him. The wound that was on my hand was a result of her trying to fight back. I would never hurt myself over her. My plan would have worked. I had made an army of monsters to help me win the world. Did you know that you and friends’ great-great-great grandmas and grandpas are still alive? This is because they used the rings against me and my ancestors,” Damon yelled. “How are they still alive if we have the rings?” Hoseok said as he felt blood seeping out of his punctured flesh. “They were once owners of the rings. Whoever once owned the ring shall remain immortal and so will their spouse unless dark magic becomes stronger than the power of their rings. After I have all the rings I’ll be able to kill of all of those pathetic ancestors,” Damon said. He yanked Hoseok’s head and smashed it on a nearby metal crate. He was becoming numb to the pain and continued crying as he felt the blood seep on his tear stained cheeks. Damon began started a weird chant and a creature walked towards him. Hoseok flinched as she looked at it. It was like a breathing, scary-looking mannequin. It had no eyes and was plain white in color. “This dear, is a shape shifter,” Damon said as he took out a test tube. It already had a greenish mixture of liquids. I made this formula in order to give food to these creatures.” Damon took a knife and dragged it across Hoseok’s arm and dripped his blood into the tube. He grabbed one of Hoseok’s long brown hairs and dropped it into the test tube. The mixture fizzed and a pink liquid was then formed. He carefully poured it down the shape shifter’s mouth. Hoseok was appalled; Damon took more care of a monster than he did of a human being. The shape shifter’s body began to twist and change structure until an exact replica of Hoseok appeared. Except it didn’t have any scars or blood on his face and his clothes were perfectly fine. Damon let out a low chuckle as he gave the fake Hoseok orders with capture the other boys outside. Hoseok was scared for both himself and his friends. Damon punched him one last time before he and the shape shifter left the room. As soon as Damon left, Hoseok began to try to use his ring power to free himself. “Don’t bother trying. The shackles are magic proof. You’ll need the keys on the wall,” said a weak voice. Hoseok craned his neck, searching for the source of the voice. His eyes widened as she saw the boy who was shackled to another chair. “Kyle,” he whispered.

Back

Kyle felt a change with Damon’s energy. He seemed happier and stronger. He and Damon were connected that way since he was one of his strongest shape shifters. He felt him calling and he knew he had to go to him. “Um boys, I need to use washroom, excuse me for a moment. Don’t go too far,” she said and began running. Yoongi, Taehyung, Jungkook and the others felt their suspicions of the Kyle surfacing again. “How could he possibly know if there’s a washroom here and that it was located that way?” Yoongi questioned. The six boys started discussing what Kyle was hiding. They heard footsteps and decided to hide behind a book shelf. The boys each created a tiny crack between books to see what was happening. They saw Kyle walking with Hoseok, both smiling and deep in conversation. All six boys wanted to rush to them but they thought it was better to listen to what they were talking about. “I told them not to go too far and they didn’t listen,” Kyle grumbled. “So we got to find them? What if they find the real Hoseok?” Hoseok questioned. The boys were confused. Why was Fiona asking about finding himself? “They won’t. Hoseok is in the secret room behind the bookcase. Plus the room can only be opened with a code,” Kayla snickered. “Okay, let’s go perform the duties of a shape shifter,” Fiona said causing both girls to cackle. Jungkook, Taehyung, Namjoon, Jimin, Yoongi and Jin were discombobulated. What was going on?

Meanwhile

“Kyle, what are you doing here? You were outside with the girls,” Hoseok said worriedly. “That wasn’t me Hoseok. That’s a shape shifter. I was trapped in here for almost a year. All the times I was ever mean, it was the shape shifter. He tried to kill your pets because Damon thought you guys would be so heartbroken that you wouldn’t be able to protect the world from him. He sent fake me after you this Halloween because this is when his power is at its highest.”

“It’s really you. I wish I could hug you but these shackles are too strong. How did he capture you?” Hoseok said. Kyle sniffled, “His boss Mark was in on the whole scheme. Mark was a magical half elf-half human. What Mark didn’t realize was that Damon was going to betray him. Damon threatened to kill his wife but Mark made a bargain with him. He would give up his grandson her eighteenth birthday.” Hoseok nodded slowly catching on, “And you were his grandson.” Kyle nodded and said, “Damon killed him and shape shifters whom he made to look like himself. Damon also made a shape-shifter look like Dr. Fisher so he could put the blame of Tiffany’s death on him.” Both boys wanted to hug each other so much. They were finally seeing the real versions of themselves after such a long time. “How are we supposed to warn the other boys of the shape shifters?” Hoseok questioned. Kyle shrugged worriedly. The two boys wished that their friends would be safe and learn the truth. Suddenly, a loud thud echoed in the room. The boys looked around curiously, only to see a bottle a bright shimmering bottle on the ground. “How did that get there?” Kyle thought aloud “Well you wished for me, didn’t you?” The bottle said as it sprouted out tiny hands and legs. The two boys recoiled in shock. The bottle continued talking, “I’m Ivy Bein. Write your message and I’ll deliver it to your friends. Here is a paper.” Hoseok didn’t have to engage in conversation. He used the drops of blood from his fingertips and wrote a message on the paper. After that, he struggled to put it into the bottle. Ivy Bein gave a small wink as he disappeared with a small swoosh. Hoseok just prayed that his letter would be received.

Back

The six boys were wandering in confusion when they heard a loud thud. Something tiny was moving on the floor. Thinking that it was a rat, Jungkook picked up a broom. Just as he was about to hit the creature, it began talking. “Well I never. I just wanted to deliver a message,” it said with a huff. Ivy Bein began to introduce herself and explained that their friend Hoseok left a message. The boys squealed in surprise when they realized a talking bottle was giving them a paper. Namjoon trembled as he collected the paper. Ivy Bein disappeared with a flash, leaving the boys dumbfounded. They all peered at message, “Guys be warned. There are shape shifters posing as us.” Worried looks were exchanged as they realized the message was in blood. They somehow believed the message because after all, if bottles could talk, why can’t shape shifters exist. “So those were shape-shifters. We need to find the real Hoseok,” Jungkook exclaimed. “Remember, what fake Kyle said about the bookshelf being coded. We just have to break the code,” Yoongi suggested. The boys nodded and ran to the bookshelf and began searching for a code. There were numbers engraved in the wood. The numbers were: 18,5,13,15,22,5,20,8,5,2,15,15,11,15,14,8,15,23,20,15,4,5,6,5,1,20,4,1,18,11,13,1,7,9,3,1,14,4,16,21,12,12,20,8,5,12,5,22,5,18. “Maybe we have to call the number,” Jin suggested. After several failed attempts, the boys gave up on that. Then they tried to add, subtract and divide the numbers on a calculator. That proved to be a waste of time. They decided to search the internet for dates relating to the numbers. That was also to no avail. “Guys, what if this code is an instruction. Wouldn’t it be in words? Each number probably represents a letter it corresponds to in the alphabet.” Namjooon said. After decoding the numbers, the boys found a sentence that read, “Remove the book on how to defeat dark magic and pull the lever.” They turned to face the oak bookshelf. After spending minutes finding the right book, they pulled it out. A lever had been located behind the book. It took the combined strength of all them to move the lever. The wall behind them separated and they entered the hidden room. Jimin picked up the book as he felt they would need it soon. The boys were shocked to see a hurt Hoseok with blood streaming down his face conversing with weak Kyle with tears streaming down his face. The boys rushed to the keys that were hung up on the wall and began to open the shackles. Both Hoseok and Kyle had a purple mark on their wrist but Kyle’s mark was much darker since he was shackled for longer time. Hoseok and Kyle spent the next fifteen minutes explaining everything that happened, to the other boys. They felt as though this was a nightmare come to life. “Wait, can magic heal your wounds?” Taehyung half shouted. “It’s worth a try,” Kyle said. The eight boys united ring power and elf magic and focused on healing. Fiona and Kayla immediately began to feel their wounds healing. Even the other girls were affected. All of their faded scars also disappeared. The boys hugged each other again and laughed about the bottle messenger just as fake Hoseok and fake Kyle entered the room. “So you guys found out our secret,” the shape shifters said. The boys were scared as they looked at the shape shifters but Kyle secretly shifted away. “Don’t make us use our ring powers,” Hoseok said weakly. “You may be powerful but you don’t know how to control your magic,” the monsters said as they approached. “Wait weren’t there eight of …” Both shape shifters fell to their ground. Their lifeless bodies curled up and green chemicals were expelled from both creatures. The seven boys looked up to see Kyle holding a dirty cudgel with a smug expression on his face. “I have elf-strength,” he said and smiled. The boys looked back to the bodies. All that was left was thick plastic-like skin and green and orange fluids on the ground. Jin broke the silence, “They were right; we don’t know how to fight off dark magic.” Jimin took out the book he collected. Kyle squealed at the sight of the book. “This was the book Damon kept talking about. It is the only book that shows how to defeat him,” Kyle explained. The boys felt hope bubbling in them as they searched the thick green book for answers. After reading the first few pages, they finally found a way to stop Damon. There was a vault that gave Damon his powers. If someone entered the vault, his powers would be gone and he would be vulnerable to magic. The person who entered the vault would have to come back out after five minutes; otherwise the vault would drain all of their life energy. After that, all four rings must touch each other while the boys would have to mutter incantations. A bright spark would shoot out of the rings but it must be directed to Damon. Kyle volunteered to be the one to enter the vault. All of the boys rejected the idea and refused to allow him to go near the vault. Kyle then explained that only the seven of them were needed to perform the incantations.  He was the only one who could do it and he promised he wouldn’t get hurt. “I’m not so sure about this,” Yoongi whispered. “Please, just let me fix what my grandparent couldn’t,” Kyle said with tears brimming in his eyes. At this, the boys reluctantly agreed.

Later

The boys had spent the next ten minutes reading the book. The learned how to banish forces and other shape shifters. They also found a way to transport themselves to the room where the vault was stored. All eight boys joined their hands together as they muttered the magical words that teleported them to an entirely different room. When they landed, their hands felt numb and they were out of breath. The room was a deep burgundy with black drapes around every corner. Thick cobwebs with hairy black spiders on them could be seen in each crevice and crack. Large posts stood high in the air with thick craniums on top. An old moth-eaten chair was littered with fingernails and flesh while blood stains could be seen on a white-tablecloth. The vault in the distance was just as eerie looking as the rest of the room. It was made out of clear green glass. Images of death and horror scenes were painted on the sharp, jagged glass. Kyle gave the others a quick hug before entering the vault and the sliding the back door in place. Moments later, many shape shifters and forces entered the room. The ambush gave the boys quite a shock. A large blue force with spread-out, scaly fins trotted their way. It bared its fangs at them as it tried to nip at their hands. The boys used a banishment charm and with a wave of their rings, all the monsters had disappeared. Damon abruptly appeared with hate-filled eyes. “My monsters,” he cried out in disdain. The boys who had never seen his face were disgusted by its state. Damon fell to floor and cried out for his creatures. The boys joined their hands together and began the incantations. They had to attack while he was powerless. “This is for hurting Hoseok, Kyle, your wife and many more. You’ll never hurt anyone again,” they chorused. Bright white light expelled from each of the rings and shot Damon in his chest. He convulsed on the floor with his blood flowing and seeping through his clothes. His blood was as black as his soul. The boys grinned; relieved that Damon was finally gone. However, their faces turned somber as they saw the vault. They all rushed to the vault where Kyle’s lifeless body was laid on the ground. Tehyung slid the door and felt Kyle’s neck. He had no pulse. “He broke his promise,” Jimin sobbed. The boys hugged one another as the tears streamed down their faces.

Later

After the battle, the head of the magical council commended the boys on their bravery and teamwork. They received guerdons of trophies and were officially deemed as protectors of earth. Kyle was greatly missed and remembered for his self-sacrifice. They never forgot Ivy Bein, who had aided them in finding the truth about the shape shifters. If she hadn’t gave the message, they would probably have been dead. The seven boys continued to protect the world from evil with the occasional help from intergalactic messengers. They called themselves BTS.
